Recently, the National Commission Against Addictions (CONADIC) of Mexico has published intentions to ban Salvia divinorum in Mexico, the country where the plant is endemic and where it is used traditionally by the Mazatec. I wrote a letter* stating the reasons why I believe that such decision is not scientifically justified. The letter was signed by several scientists, and sent to CONADIC.
